In 2016, the foundation for Hunters for BC was laid informally in response to British Columbia’s wildlife crisis – a crisis that continues today. Many of BC’s hunter-conservationists already know something is wrong. They’ve watched the numbers drop. They’ve felt the frustration of regulations tightening while government investment quietly disappears. What is less understood, particularly in BC’s urban centres, where most of the province’s population lives, is the full scale of what has already been lost.
We exist to raise awareness about the urgent need for improved wildlife management and responsible resource use, emphasizing the importance of biodiversity and conservation to prevent further declines in wildlife populations. Together, we can help safeguard our natural heritage for future generations.
We are an action organization – not a lobbying group, not a member-services club, but a team of hunters and conservationists doing boots-on-the-ground wildlife work because the stakes demand it.
